MEET THE WOMAN WHO TOOK “FROOTI” FROM A 300 CR BRAND TO AN 8000 CR BRAND.

Nadia Chauhan joined her father’s company, Parle Agro, in 2003 at the age of 17. She diversified the company’s revenue stream, which previously relied on “Frooti” for 95% of its income. She promoted the packaged water brand “Baileys,” transforming it into a business worth over 1000 crore rupees. With a robust distribution network and strategic partnerships with dhabas and long-distance bus operators, Parle Agro’s turnover doubled to 5000 crore rupees.

The pivotal moment came in 2005 when Nadia launched “Appy Fizz,” a unique product that introduced apple juice to the Indian market. It quickly gained popularity, achieving a 36% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) and capturing an impressive 99% market share. Its innovative style and taste inspired many imitators over the following two decades.

Despite her new ventures, Nadia didn’t overlook “Frooti.” She relaunched it in various flavors under the brand “Nutrizz” and updated its packaging to the iconic PET bottles we recognize today.

To further promote the brand, she enlisted top actors like Alia Bhatt and Ram Charan, who endorsed the new flavors in advertisements featuring trendy outfits and quirky “Frooti Fizz” bottles. This strategy proved successful, with a 300 crore rupee advertising spend generating over 2000 crore rupees in revenue.

Today, Frooti contributes 48% of the company’s revenue. Nadia’s ability to expand the business across multiple categories is truly remarkable.
